The most wonderful time of the year is almost upon us, and Downtown Washington is buzzing with excitement! We've lined up a fantastic series of events to get you in the holiday spirit, from trick-or-treating fun to a full-day wonderland celebration. Mark your calendars—you won't want to miss any of these festivities!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Trick or Treat on the Square: This Friday!
When: This Friday, October 31st, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
What: Bring your little goblins and ghouls downtown for a fun, safe Trick or Treat on the Square!
Presented by: Jackie Arreola Insurance, who will be handing out treat bags (allergen friendly bags available too in limited quantity).
Photo Op: Stop by the Washington Public Library where Madison Kay Photography will be set up to snap pictures of you & your fabulous costumes!
Look for treats & tricks from 23 local businesses/organizations! We can’t wait!
- When: Friday, November 7th, 1 PM - 6:30 PM Saturday, November 8th 10 AM - 3 PM
- What: Shop & Sip your way around Downtown Washington! Enjoy special offerings and get a head start on your gift list.
- When: Friday, November 21st
- What: Get ready to shop 'til you drop! PINK Friday is the perfect time to score amazing deals and support your favorite small businesses.
- New This Year: As you shop, each store will give you a flower to add to your very own sweet flower bouquet! Make purchases, large or small, and build a beautiful bouquet while you find treasures from fashion to home goods. Don't miss this pink-tastic opportunity!
November 28th & 29th: Shop & Explore the Wonderland Trail
Businesses will be decorating their windows and storefronts for your enjoyment! Explore our four themed quadrants while you shop small!

November 29th: A Day of Holiday Fun
- 8 AM - 10 AM – Breakfast with Santa UP Church - Enjoy pancakes, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, and make a holiday craft. Madison Fishback Photography will be set up for family pictures! Community 1st Credit Union & Stairway to the Stars
- 9 AM – Jingle Bell Fun Run A festive race through downtown Washington—wear your best holiday costume!
- 1 PM – Reason for the Season Variety Show Washington High School Auditorium - Featuring dancing, singing, and a special appearance by Santa.
- 5 PM – Live Radio Play Outside Washington Public Library - Featuring classic Christmas episodes broadcast on KCII.
- 6 PM – Downtown Memorial Tree Ceremony & Lighted Parade Central Park, followed by the 30th Annual Lighted Holiday Parade circling downtown. Hills Bank; Food Trucks: JT’s Sips, Eaton Good Kettlecorn & Delovely’s Donuts
- After Parade until 8 PM – Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides Central Park State Farm - Korschgen
- After Parade until 8 PM – Santa's House Washington Public Library - Deliver your wish lists and take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus! Washington State Bank
Want to commemorate these amazing events AND support MSW? Grab a sweet tshirt or cozy sweater from the Boho Bailey Fundraiser! Sale closes at midnight on November 8th, so you can pick them up after Nov 13th and wear for the festivities if you want!

December Delights
The holiday spirit continues into December with these cherished local events!
- Candlelight Tour of Homes: Get into the holiday spirit and join the Washington Chamber of Commerce for their 34th Annual Tour of Homes, on December 5th & 6th. Get a peek into beautifully decked-out homes, while soaking in the local history and culture. This cherished tradition is sure to dazzle with its festive ambiance and stunning decor.
- The Nutcracker Ballet: Presented by Elizabeth's Academy of Classical Ballet at the Washington Community Theater on December 12th at 6:30 PM & December 13th at 1:30 PM.
Get Involved
Lights of Love Trees
We have 120 trees this year and we’ll need your help to get them all up in Central Park! We hope to get the trees delivered on Nov 20 or 21, we typically start at 10a and provide lunch to all the helpers. If you’re interested in helping us, pencil in those dates and let us know!
